What's The Fastest Payment Setup & Accounting Software For Freelancers?

If you're a freelancer who needs to accept client payment quickly, here's what to do.

I love Stripe for payment processing, and when I first signed up, I needed to quickly get a client payment. I signed up, and I was able to get paid right away.

After you set up your Stripe account, they'll verify your business information, and within minutes, you should be good to go. If you don't have a business, you can sign up as an individual. I'd highly recommend you set up a business S-corp (for tax deduction benefits), but if you need to get paid fast, you can always do that at a later date. Add your bank account for where you want funds deposited.

Please note that there is a $12 per month fee to keep the account if you don't meet one of their requirements.

Once you are set up in Stripe, sign up for Harpoon, the best accounting and invoicing system for freelancers, hands down. With your Harpoon account set up, you can connect your Stripe account to process payments, and you're ready to invoice your client.

Create the company profile, which is primarily the name, contact person, and email. Create your first invoice and send it off. Once sent, you'll be able to see when the client clicks on your invoice in their email, and you'll immediately get a notification of payment from both Harpoon and Stripe.

Within 2-3 business days, Stripe will deposit your money into your bank account. If you're willing to pay a fee and are eligible, Stripe can expedite the process with instant payouts to get your money within 30 minutes. I wouldn't recommend this, because of the fee, unless you're in dire straits.

That's it. Simply set up Harpoon, Stripe, and connect them. Send your invoice, and you will get paid as a freelancer!
