To Maximize Your Productivity Using Generative AI, Ask Yourself This Question
You could be getting way more work done in less time using generative AI (like ChatGPT or Google Gemini).
What's holding you and me back from leveraging it more?

A lack of imagination and time using it.
Let me give you a few examples.
Using Riverside, I generate a transcript from my podcast episode. Ideally, I'd want to review and edit the transcript for clarity and grammar.
Doing this manually could take 30-60 minutes. With generative AI, it takes a few minutes, and this is one of the types of things it does really well (and that I dislike doing).
Generative AI will help you get more done in less time while also expanding your capabilities.
Accomplishing this comes down to our imagination and exploring the opportunities. The sign that we're exploring generative AI in this way is that we'll actually hit the limits of AI and recognize how overhyped it has become.
So, here's a quick question to ask yourself when you think about all the tasks you are currently doing, especially those you do over and over again: how could generative AI do this task I'm now doing?
Your assumption should be that it can do the task in its entirety (even if it can't) because it will trigger your mind to explore how it could, and where the boundaries of its limitations reside.
When you're leveraging generative AI right, you will streamline and delegate the tasks that generative AI is good at doing, and you'll discover how limited AI actually is when you push it to its limits; there are many things it just can't do right now, or can't do well. By asking yourself the question above, you discover the spectrum of possibilities.
