How To Create Rich Content That Gets Search Engine Traffic

The biggest step to driving large amounts of traffic to your website from Google is creating a large volume of quality content.

If you don't do this, no one will visit your website from the search engines.

I get over ten thousand people visiting my website every year, which is like me talking to a stadium filled with people.

This is because I've published over 500 articles and 150 podcast episodes.

Your target should be 75 pages as the first big milestone of creating rich content. From there,e you want to hit 150, 215, and 400. These seem to be helpful Mike markers for blog post tipping points.

The simplest way to create rich content is to write 75 blog posts at least 600 words in length. If you can make them 1,200 words, even better. Once you have 75, work towards 150, and so on.

As you blog, you'll also get practice and feedback, and that will help you improve the blogs you write going forward.

It's not easy, but this is the simplest way to get traffic from Google (and other search engines as well as AGI like ChatGPT and Google Gemini).

If you want a more detailed accounting of how to create the ideal form of rich blog content, I've written a checklist for you here. This will add more steps and friction to create the content, so I wouldn't recommend going too deep into it until you have developed the writing and publishing habits; otherwise, you may find yourself doing nothing at all! If you're working on landing pages, here's a checklist on how to make a rich content landing page that is also geared towards effective conversions.

And, once you have a library of rich content, there is one main SEO task you can do to get more Google traffic from that content. It's quick and easy, and I'll show you step-by-step on how to do it here.
