How YouTube Changed My Life (250 Subscribers) + Other YouTube Growth Videos & 1 Comedy Skit

Since the start of 2025, I've taken YouTube seriously. And, I've grown from 68 subscribers! As of making this video, I was at 250 subscribers. As of publishing this post on my website, I'm sitting at 317 subscribers! You can subscribe to my channel here.

This post is a round-up collection of some YouTube growth videos I want to share, but don't quite seem important enough to highlight as separate posts. So, I'm compiling them all here. The video above is about how YouTube has changed my life in the first 5 months of 2025 and the opportunity I've embraced that I failed to see before.

Let's survey some of the others below.

Office Lighting Upgrades

In my last post about my YouTube progress, I shared a video about how I was upgrading my office to record videos for YouTube, which included painting my backdrop. I went ahead and finalized my lighting setup with the Bluetooth recessed lighting, which gives me complete control over my office lighting.

The video above was also a good test run video for the Juniper & Jones documentary series, which my wife and I have embarked on for YouTube.

Why You Should Start a YouTube Channel (Especially If Nobody Watches)

One of the ways to be successful on YouTube is to create videos based on trends. This video, and my parody skit on the topic (below), is one attempt at riding this trend wave. I thought the video was good, but YouTube didn't promote it like other trend-based videos I've done before. If you're wondering about whether you should start a channel, this is a good video to watch as part of your exploration.

Feeling Demoralized, Small YouTubers? Imagine this As You Build Your Channel

This was my pep talk for YouTubers to encourage them on the journey and provide some helpful tips for growing their channel. I thought it was such a great message, I repurposed most of the content as part of my LinkedIn Newsletter.

Live or Die! What If Your Next YouTube Video Determined Your Fate?

This was a video designed to get fellow YouTubers to think outside the box as they plan and create their next video. If our next video determined our fate, what would we do to maximize our chances of success? This exercise has helped me spin off and try several things on my channel.

Rebel YouTuber Comedy: Why you should NOT Start YouTube even if EVERYONE watches…

As part of this journey, I've done a great deal of experimenting. And this includes my first comedy video skit, where you'll meet three different Jasons making a mockery video about starting a YouTube channel. I did a second video like this, with a variety of animated Jasons using Riverside's AI function.

iPhone 16 Pro Unboxing Video

I've done a handful of product review videos. Since I decided to buy a new iPhone, I made a YouTube video about the upgrade process and my thoughts about it. It was an unexpected success and is now my fourth most-viewed video of all time!

Charleston Tea Garden Breakfast Tea Review Video

Before I did the iPhone review video, I did this one about a breakfast tea. This was another experimental video to help me revisit and explore the video production of my past.
