Do You Know What You Believe & Why?

What are your most important beliefs? And, what truth are these beliefs based on? For those of you who are aware of these important beliefs, how do you go about communicating them with others?

We're all traversing through this life with a set of inherited and self-discovered beliefs. Some are intentional while others are subconscious. At various points in our lives, we're forced to reflect on these beliefs and the many contradictory experiences that deeply challenge them. It's in these moments where the truth behind these beliefs either shake away or stand strong.

As Christians, we're called to share our beliefs with others so a little over a year ago, I explored how I could integrate this sharing through my website and as part of my ongoing blogging efforts. You may have noticed it as you navigated my website menu under the about section. The sub-menu item is titled "The Reasons For The Hope I Have" and it it was inspired by the writings of Peter the apostle. He states the following in one of his letters.

"But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." - Peter The Apostle

Inspired by his message, I created a place where I could collect these reasons for my own clarity and the benefit of others who are seeking answers to challenging questions and difficult circumstances. I also wanted a portal where I could direct people to aspects of my story and the reasons why I have hope. It's a way to live out my purpose, which is to embrace the life of Jesus Christ (the life he gave and the life he lived).

Since I initially created the page in 2016, I've added reasons and plan to continue doing so as long as this website is live. It'll become my place to aggregate how God works in my life, who He is, and why I believe so strongly in the scriptures He's left us. Currently, the page has wonderful resources to tackle the following questions.
  • Who needs God?
  • Who is Jesus?
  • Where does love, relationship, community, and justice come from?
  • What is the Bible and what does it mean?
  • How do you face your fears head on?
  • Does Genesis accurately communicate the creation of life and the universe?
  • Where does our sense of right and wrong come from?
  • How can God redeem broken relationships?
  • What about the violence in the old testament?
  • What is my story and how did God transform me?
If any of these questions intrigue you, I encourage you to visit this page by clicking here. If you have additional questions, feel free to send them my way.
