Over-Communicating in a Startup

For some entrepreneurs, communicating consistently and clearly comes naturally. For others, like myself, communication takes a more deliberate rhythm and process. Entrepreneurs should work hard to over-communicate with their constituents.

The rotten fish problem

Obvious, but difficult. So difficult that we rarely do it. We'd rather lower the average and see if we can get away with it instead.

audit-stage The Audit Stage - Continue, Change or Stop? (Click to read more...)

If you have ever asked yourself something like this in your work or life, you now know the value of an audit. People, circumstances, resources change and we must change in order to stay effective in what we are doing. If we don't we are likely to maintain a behavior and culture in our organization which will lead to our demise.

The beauty of this productivity is not the time we save, but the time we can now use in building relationships with our team and clients. I believe we ought to be more productive at our work so we can give more time to people.

who-do-i-want-to-be Who Do We Want To Be? (Click to read more...)

To those in a state of surviving in isolation, I want to be someone who provides hope. I want to be someone who shares a way for leaving this state of despair. I want to be someone who gives guidance for moving into a state of thriving together.

What Have I Been Working On The last 3 months?

I have had several friends and family ask me what I have been up to, work-wise, since we shut down Noodlehead Marketing 3 months ago. The simple answer is for the past three months, I have done contract work. It has been in a neat season of work where it has organically come my way. I appreciate being in a state where I am able to focus on the work in front of me and not get distracted by looking for new work.
Here are a few of the projects I have been working on.
For the first 2 months, I spent a majority of my time working with a ministry called The 315 Project. I met the founder Todd Miechiels several years ago at a leadership event called Catalyst. Over time we stayed connected and when he found out I was shutting down Noodlehead Marketing he reached out to me to help their ministry get focused and organized. We started with a service I offer called an organizational audit. It is the process of transitioning from chaos to order.
In case you have not heard of it, the 315 Project is a ministry whose mission is to help Christians know and share their story.
I recently launched a new Joomla website for the Braselton Stover house. Their website had become outdated and they wanted to leverage the site to answer many of the questions their customers were asking.
Located in Braselton, Georgia, the Braselton Stover House is a great place for weddings and private events.
I spent time working with author & speaker, Bryant Cornett. I consulted with him on his marketing workflow, shared new ideas on how he could expand his reach and I made changes to his website.
Bryant Cornett wrote the book "A Rooster Once Crowed: a commentary on the greatest story ever told".
Website Audit for An Undisclosed Cient
One of the services I offer is an audit. The audit can be done for an organization, a department, a campaign or a project. In this case, a client sought me ought to audit their website. Our mission was to review what they had, what they wanted and create a plan to implement their vision in the short and long-term. In addition to auditing the project, we discovered many underlying motivations, desires and aspirations for the organization and its leader. This experience became a catalyst for improving their website and gaining clarity.
Project Planning & Management, Joomla Web Design, Consulting and More
These are some of the specific projects I have worked on. With most of the projects I started during the last 3 months coming to a close, God has continued to provide new project opportunities. I am now in discussions with several organizations about new business and marketing problems I am able to help solve.
As I continue freelancing, please keep me in mind if you come across the following types of work:
  • A struggling business, church or ministry.
  • An organization seeking help to get their message to their target audience.
  • A project requiring planning, management and/or accountability.
  • A website project or changes to an existing website.

The 315 Project: My Story

Over the past three months I have been consulting with The 315 Project. Their mission is to help Christians know and share their story. As part of our journey together, I went through their process of knowing and sharing my story.

I have been on quite the journey over my 29 years here on earth. God has continued to demonstrate Himself through me and my story. I share my story to inspire, teach and give hope to others who are struggling in life.
