“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” - Psalm 23:4
Right now, I feel like God is far from me.
Last year I went through a season of, I would describe as, being on the mountaintop with God. Once I got to the top, I took another step, and I fell off and into the valley of darkness.
This is the valley I am walking in now. I am grateful, I have not had to walk it alone.
I keep moving, and I keep walking.
- God is there, but I don't feel him.
- God is close, but I don't sense him.
- God is all around me, but I don't see him.
I feel as if I am too needy. I'm hungry for him but feel as if my appetite is not satisfied. He's there. I know it, but now it's different.
He gives me reassurance at the most opportune time in the exact way I need it.
He draws near to me.
God will never leave or forsake me. One step at a time, He walks with me. Many times, he carries me. He provides me guidance as I move forward.
- Jason means healer.
- Scott means wanderer.
- Montoya means hills and valleys.
This valley has taught me a new type of faith. One I believe is preparing me for what is to come.
Are you on the mountain or in the valley?
